ARA Seattle

A #tagboard Recap: ARA Seattle’s Women in Tech Panel

Last night’s inaugural ARA Seattle event was a huge success, thanks to the talented and dedicated women in tech who gathered to share their perspective on what’s required to attract, retain and advance women in tech within the Seattle community– and beyond.

The night kicked off with special guest speaker, Dawn Lepore, who imparted lessons on her journey on the “Road to CEO.” Dawn is currently the CEO of Lepore Northwest Partners, has served as a Director of eBay and was the CEO and Chairman of the Board of drugstore.com.

Our esteemed panel then took the stage at the Lively Lounge to cover issues from self-promotion to family to breaking barriers within the tech world. Monica Guzman, Columnist at GeekWire, moderated the panel which included Susie Algard, CEO of OfficeSpace.com, Amy Bohutinsky, Chief Marketing Officer of Zillow, Kate Matsudaira, Founder and CEO of Popforms, and Tami Reller, Executive Vice President of Marketing at Microsoft.

I’m inspired by the women that spoke and attended, and excited to see what we can accomplish together. Check out this tagboard for #ARASeattle to read what resonated with the attendees – and see some great pictures as well!

Thank you to the speakers, moderator, and my team at Harvey Nash that spent countless hours planning and preparing for the event. This event would not have been possible without the generous donation of the sponsors that support ARA’s mission, including Avvo, GoDaddy, Julep, Lively, #tagboard, thePlatform and Zumobi.

Molly Kane is the Seattle Market Director for Harvey Nash USA. She spearheaded ARA's expansion into the greater Seattle area and is passionate about supporting women in technology.
